Are you still 100% in the transactional car business? Or are you part of the way there, but can’t seem to get over that hump? We all start somewhere. When I met Ali Reda he was somewhere else too. In our book, How to Sell 100 Cars a Month, this is what Ali has to say about it.
“The first time I heard Damian speak, I had only been at the dealership for a couple of days. I had just come from another store where I was selling around 35 cars a month. I knew I could get back to that range, even though I was starting over at a new location. He asked me what number I wanted to get to. Being bold, I said 60. I remember thinking if I can get to 60, that would be amazing! At the end of that seminar, I believed that I could do it.
The first time I hit 50, it was an unbelievable feeling. I could always get close, but nobody I knew was hitting 50. It was the barrier. Then when I finally crossed the barrier, I sold 51.
I remember calling Damian and sharing how happy I was. How successful I felt. I couldn’t believe that it felt so effortless. He immediately asked, what’s the next number and how do you get there while working less? I told him 70. And he helped me believe I could hit that goal as well. He showed me what I needed to do to reduce the stress levels and sell even more—get an assistant. Once I had the right help, I jumped from 50 to 70 really quickly. And then 101 was just around the corner.
Momentum is an amazing thing. I’ve stopped even thinking about the numbers, they just happen.
There’s no break in the action because I’m just serving people and the sales just pile up.
It’s a constant stream of customers, no matter what time of the month. Then my best month was 167, and I didn’t even know we’d hit that until days later.
Every time I hit a new milestone, I’d call Damian because he was as excited as I was. He served as my mentor and the one person I could count on to help me. It wasn’t like a typical coaching arrangement where two people try to get past roadblocks and obstacles. For us, it was more about pinpointing what I was doing right and finding ways to do more of the right things. It was all about smoothing the way and clearing out the time-wasters and inefficiencies.
He was always pushing me to the next level—the next number goal. Meeting and maintaining high volume sales is not about working harder. It’s about working smarter. And a coach or mentor really helps with that because they can see what you can’t.
A little while back, I was sitting in one of Damian’s seminars when he asked the group if they knew anyone who had ever sold 100 cars in a month. The men and women in the audience looked around with blank stares on their faces. Some of them were looking at him like he was completely full of it.
He asked them if they’d like to learn from someone selling 100 cars a month. Every hand shot up. Then he asked, “How many of you would like to meet someone who is selling 100 cars a month?”, and he had me stand up.
You could have heard a pin drop. I can still feel the energy from every single person in that room looking at me. I can still feel how the entire room shifted in that moment.”
I invite you to watch this week’s video to hear more about getting to YOUR next level!
You’ve got to move yourself into 100% relationship selling. Get active with your community. Get out there and meet people, help people, love people. Get yourself out there!
People give up because they’re looking for instant gratification. That’s not going to happen! It’s going to be a hard road. You’re going to have to pick yourself up, give yourself pep talks, and believe fully that it is possible – even on the days that it doesn’t seem that way. You’re planting a seed, and you’ll have to keep on watering it to be able to watch it grow.
We’ve been talking a lot lately about the five pillars of high achievement. Using the pillars, we want you to know how to leave the mindset of scarcity. When your brain is hijacked, it is hard for us to be as good as we hope to be. Intentionality has an energy to it, and what you need to do is align that energy to your intentionality. This forces your energy to shift, takes you out of your current unhealthy headspace, and gets you where you want to be effortlessly.
I challenge you to spend time asking yourself these questions again and again.
- Who am I at my best?
- Why am I here?
- Where am I going?
- Why am I going there?
Yes I realize you’ve answered these questions before. That’s the point. It is to keep asking the questions, and to take you out of a place of lack and into a place of abundance. The point is to remind yourself of how good you are. It is to remind yourself of what you’re doing this for. When you can bring yourself into a place of awareness about where you are, you get to be yourself fully in every moment because you are asking the questions that help you remember. It’s so simple: ask yourself questions to change your energy, and it will change your life.
In your everyday interactions, you may find yourself having to manage the energy in your circle. We all know that it’s easy to get wrapped up in the drama of it all. Especially on social media, people forget to acknowledge humanity. The road rage of the virtual world is not for you. Make sure you’re being nice, understanding, and considerate. Post or comment only when you are coming across as your actual self.
Fill in the blanks below to remind yourself of who you are. What qualities, characteristics, and attributes do you exude when your energy is at its best?

Your challenge this week? Post in four groups. Based on the words you’ve described yourself with, choose four of the groups that you’ve joined during this challenge. Like and comment on five posts within each group, and really show them who you are. Words are powerful. Make sure they understand your sincerity and appreciation for what was shared. Keep this new list next to your computer, and you can check it all the time. Before you click send on a post, ask yourself, “Do I have an attractive, healthy energy?” or “Am I sharing negativity?”
We all have weeks that don’t go right! We all have tough days, and sometimes we have entire months where we just can’t seem to find our flow. Even Ali started out this way. We had to pull out the good pieces of every interaction, and get better at finding more of that. It was a process, and it was a lot of hard work on Ali’s part. Want to know more about it? Download your free copy of How to Sell 100 Cars a Month to learn more about my journey, and Ali’s as well.
