We are back with our series ‘Thoughts from Thursday’ and this one has me thinking about a song from when I was younger. A song that went:
“He’s got the whole world in His hands, He’s got the whole wide world in His hands.”
Those lyrics carried a powerful message, one of reassurance and trust. And today, in the wake of major events both in our country and around the world, that message feels just as relevant as ever. Some of you may be feeling frustrated or disheartened. Others may be overjoyed, celebrating with boundless enthusiasm. Regardless of where you fall on that spectrum, I want you to take a deep breath and understand this: Everything is going to be okay.
In times like these, it is essential to practice thoughtfulness. Thoughtfulness begins with consideration—both for yourself and for those around you. Take a moment to check in with yourself. How are you feeling? Are you caring for your mind, body, and spirit? Many of us pour our energy into the world without remembering to refill our own cups. But you cannot be your best self for others if you are neglecting yourself.
Your health is your foundation. Prioritize it. Make choices that uplift your body and mind. Become a positive example for yourself and others. The world may seem chaotic right now, but trust me, history has seen its fair share of turmoil. And yet, we persevere. We rebuild. We grow.
When challenges appear insurmountable, they demand our immediate attention, consuming our thoughts and emotions. But here’s the truth: What feels overwhelming today will be a footnote in your past five, ten, fifteen years from now. What seems like a mountain is often just a roadblock—one that time, wisdom, and resilience will transform into a mere speed bump.
So, let go of the weight that fear and uncertainty place on your shoulders. Find peace in knowing that, in time, clarity will come. The emotions you experience today—are they serving you? Are they helping you grow? Are they aligned with the future you envision for yourself? Your energy matters. The way you show up in the world matters. Make sure it aligns with your purpose, your joy, and your success.
The world will keep moving forward. The sun will rise, the stars will shine, and life will continue its intricate dance. In this moment, choose peace—peace in your mind, peace in your actions, and peace in your interactions with others.
Be thoughtful. Show kindness. Grant yourself the grace you extend to others. Life has consequences, and how we handle them determines the quality of our journey. The biggest favor you can do for yourself today is to practice compassion—both inwardly and outwardly.
So, as you navigate today and the days ahead, remember this: Everything is going to be okay. You have the strength, the wisdom, and the resilience to move forward with thoughtfulness and grace.
